Conditional Formatting formula for shading problem

I am trying to get Columns C-K to shade purple if the lowest number in range isn't duplicated and there is and "x" in column A. If you look at the attached file cell E3 and E16 are shaded purple because they match the number in cell E25, but what I am trying to accomplish is that the cell will only shade purple if it equals E25 and has an "x" in column A

Re: Conditional Formatting formula for shading problem

Select cell E3, then click on conditional formatting | Manage Rules and choose the rule that gives rise to the purple colour and click on Edit Rule. Now choose Use a Formula... from the bottom of the list and enter this formula in the formula box:

    =AND(E3=$E$25,$A2="x")

then click OK twice to exit the dialogue box. Excel will automatically adjust the cell references to suit the other cells in the range.

    Hope this helps.

That's because the formula referred to A2 instead of A3 - sorry for that.

I've applied it to your latest file (attached) from C3 to K24, and tidied up all the CF rules.

    Hope this helps.
