Pasting table from Outlook email to Excel spreadsheet

How do I copy a table that was pasted to an Outlook email to Excel and either make the values paste as numbers, or else convert the pasted values to numbers?

The table from Outlook comes over with random spacing at the beginning and end of each number contained in a cell. Finding and replacing the blank spaces doesn't work. I literally am having to go into each cell in excel and remove the spacing before and after the number to get the number to register as a number.

Converting the data as text to columns works sometimes, but a lot of the times there is a different number of blank spaces before and/or after the number in each cell of the column.

    Thank you for any help!

What exactly do you mean by that? Do the spaces not disappear? or does it just not automatically convert to a number?

If the second, (all spaces are gone), then simply select the column, click on "Text to Columns" and click "Finish"

If the first, then they are not normal spaces. You can copy one of them and paste it into the FIND field in Find n Replace Window to remove those spaces.

Did that help? We could also do a lot of TRIM and CLEAN formulas but you'd need to update an example spreadsheet to help with that. I think the first options are easier.

Re: Pasting table from Outlook email to Excel spreadsheet

I wish I could post the table the way it looks in the Outlook. ChemistB, searching on the actual spacing helped in that I didn't have to go into each individual cell and delete the spacing (it'd be nice if the spacing was consistent, instead I have to keep adjusting the spacing in the find and replace because it varies). Once I get the spaces all out of the cell (before and after the number) they convert to a number, which is my goal. I was hopeful there was a formula that removes all blanks in a cell regardless of how many there are (in front of and after a number). I have never heard of region settings. Thanks again for your help

below is the table but it doesn't really do much since you can't see the format/spacing
