Drop down list and matching drop down selection to other data

Hello, I have made a drop-down list based on the GO Ontology groups (unclassified, rab etc..). On the 'Serach Sheet' the list gives you the Entrez IDs under that particular GO Ontology. I would like when an ID is selected to display the Gene Symbol, MGI Gene/Marker ID, Ensembl ID, and a "Yes" if the Entrez ID is mapped under 'GO Ontology ID is Mapped' and a "No" Entrez ID is mapped under GO Ontology Unmapped IDs.

I have attached the excel file.

Hopefully we can figure this out! I look forward to the suggestions.

    First:

in the gene ID sheet column A there is text.

Make a number of that first.

    J2 = a2*1 and drag down.

Copy => paste special => values column J into column A.

    After that delete column J.

    Then the solution.

With Vlookup (yellow) and match (green).

    See the attached file.

    Please reply.
Notice my main language is not English.

I appreciate it, if you reply on my solution.

Thank you. This solution works well. When i was messing with it i overlooked the conversion of the text to a number.

I have modified the excel file and have attached it. I would like to add one last additional feature to the file.

In the first sheet, under 'Individual GO Ontology', i would like the statement to; IF yes to 'mapped ontology', lookup the gene ID and then tell what GO Ontology group it belongs to, and if no to 'mapped ontology' say "See Individual Gene GO Ontology Sheet".

I have a feeling there is a simple error in my logic or incorrect syntax for the argument.

I have marked the thread as [SOLVED] for the drop-down menu - thank you again! I look forward to hearing the suggestions.

In which cells you need a changed formula.

What would be the result after changing the formula.

Please add this in your file.

Re: Drop down list and matching drop down selection to other data

    Clarification:

I would like on sheet '192 Screen Hits' if Col H = Yes, to show the GeneID (Col A) that matches up to the Title of each column in row 1 on sheet 'GO References". <IE> A3 (Gene ID: 18952) should have "mitochondrion organization" show up in the column H. If H does not = Yes I would like "See Individual Gene GO Ontology Sheet".

I have attached another copy of the file in question with the column highlighted.

Thank you again for you're help. This is an amazing board.

Re: Drop down list and matching drop down selection to other data

18952 is available in 5 columns.

Why should it be "mitochondrion organization"?

    18952 cellular component organization
18952 cellular component organization or biogenesis
    18952 cellular process
    18952 mitochondrion organization
    18952 organelle organization

Excellent. I realized that after i pondered through everything. Thank you again for all your help. I have managed to solve the problem by having all the categories the gene id is in pop up. =)

It helped having someone point out the obvious for me.
