Can this be done in excel:
I would like to count the number of rows that are highlighted in red in column W, only if there is blue highlight in column B. I have attached the screen shot of what data i am looking at. So my formula should only Count 1 since both conditions were met. Please let me know if that's possible in excel or tools that you may know.

Is there some logic as to why those cells are colored like that (think Conditional Formatting). If there is, then we can maybe use that same logic for the calc. If the colors were added manually, then you will probably need VBA, color is cosmetic, not data, and formulas work on data - they cannot "see" color

Excel cannot calculate a result on cell colour, so it would come down to the reason why those cells are coloured that way, which is why popipipo asked that question.

Sorry, I can not send the spreadsheet since it's our companies policy. Is there a code in visual basics that I can do?
It can be done using VBA functions but I recommend not doing it as it doesn't work as you think it should.Originally Posted by gak67
Changing a cell color does not cause a calculation so the formula won't update automatically.
