    Vlookup and search

I'm not sure if my picture is showing on this thread....

    Column A has no formula
B6 has a left formula taking the first 7 characters of cell A6
C6 has a formula that takes the information in B6 and VLookups an ISN Grade on a different Excel Workbook e.g. A,B,C,F

    =IFERROR(VLOOKUP(B6,'ISNGradeReport'!$C$1:$D$65536,2,FALSE),"NA")

My issue is if the ISN Grade Workbook has multiple account numbers in the cell. Can I add an embedded search formula in the VLookup?

    Thank you!

    Re: Vlookup and search

VLookup only finds the first found value.

That is the way VLookup works.
Notice my main language is not English.

I appreciate it, if you reply on my solution.

Is there another parameter which will distinguish between same a/c numbers?

Unfortunately there is not. Just the account number, and sometimes there's more than one in the cell.

What do you mean by this? "My issue is if the ISN Grade Workbook has multiple account numbers in the cell. " can you illustrate, preferably by posting an Excel sheet?

I emailed it directly to the person who PM'd me. I still can't add the attachment for some reason. It's clocks out.
