Is there a formula to write the name of document editor into a cell?

Hi,

Does anyone know of a formula that will take the name of the owner of the copy of excel that is being used to edit a document and use it to populate a cell? Much the same way as the formula which enters the date a document is being edited into the cell by reading today's date.

Do you mean the User Name of the document? If so, I believe you would have to use a User Defined Function (UDF) using VBA. For example:

I mean the name of the person editing the document. When you open excel, it displays your name in the top right corner. I was hoping there would be a formula for writing that user ID into a cell, dependent on who opened the document.
