I'm a complete novice to excel and trying to work through a couple of questions. Can anybody help with the attachment. I have GOOGLED for hours and CANNOT figure this out.
I am completely frustrated, LOL.

Your post does not comply with Rule 1 of our Forum RULES. Your post title should accurately and concisely describe your problem, not your anticipated solution.
Use terms appropriate to a Google search. Poor thread titles, like Please Help, Urgent, Need Help, Formula Problem, Code Problem, and Need Advice will be addressed according to the OP's experience in the forum: If you have less than 10 posts, expect (and respond to) a request to change your thread title. If you have 10 or more posts, expect your post to be locked, so you can start a new thread with an appropriate title.
To change a Title go to your first post, click EDIT then Go Advanced and change your title, if 2 days have passed ask a moderator to do it for you.
(This thread should receive no further responses until this moderation request is fulfilled, as per Forum Rule 7)

This appears to be homework, so instead of straight up putting the answers here, I am offering how I would approach it. I would setup a helper column on your data tab (Sheet2, column I). I would use the month(), &, and year() functions in the helper column to get a Month entry for each row. In your worksheet this would show the first entry as "8/2012". Then, on the Question tab, I would setup a table with months ("1/2011" through "8/2012" running along one row. Underneath each month I would use a sumif function to sum revenue that matches that month (tied back to the helper column on Sheet2). You can use the same rationale for the items count (except it would sum the Units from Sheet2 instead of Revenue).

It's actually not homework. I'm simply looking for an easier way to do this than the route I've taken. Currently I am using the month() function and the year() function in new columns but I was attempting to do this without adding information. Don't worry about it. I'll figure it out.
Thanks anyway.
Please take a moment to read the forum rules and then amend your thread title to something descriptive of your problem - not what you think the answer might be. (think google search terms?). Once you have done this please send me a PM and I will remove this request. (Also, include a link to your thread - copy from the address bar)
Many members search our previous posts, and thread titles play a big part of the search. I doubt anybody would do a search based on your title?
To change a Title on your post, click EDIT POST then Go Advanced and change your title, if 2 days have passed ask a moderator to do it for you.
1. Use code tags for VBA.
Your Code
(or use the # button)
2. If your question is resolved, mark it SOLVED using the thread tools
3. Click on the star if you think someone helped you
