Help with HLOOKUP or SUMIF? to separate negatives or numbers with a - symbol and add them

I will bet that this answer is going to be so easy I will probably want to slap myself. I just need to pull out and then add up all of the - numbers in the row. Column D of the attachment is just a basic SUM. Im having trouble pulling out and adding the negative numbers and displaying the total in the waste column. Any help in this simple matter is appreciated.

Put this in E5:

=SUMIF(F5:Q5,"<0")

Adjust the range to suit (I can't see from the PDF file how many columns you are using), then copy down.

Next time attach an Excel workbook rather than a PDF file.
