make excel file smaller by constraining the data range

    hi guys,
i ve just read an article saying that by pressing cntl end you can see which data the excel takes into account. thus, if your range is large you should be able to constrain it by deleting the cells you dont even have data. for example in one of my sheets excel actually takes into account all the way down to the end. my question is how can i command it to not take into account all these values?

At some point, you did something that included the cells that far out/down, and excel remembers that.

My advice is always - press end/home and find where you land. If that is not the known last row/column of data, start deleting rows and columns until you get back to where you know your last row/column of data is.

Then save, close and reopen the file

If you dont save it, then it's the same as if you made no changes
