Is there a formula to change numbers into words but still be able to add up to a total?

Hi,

I'm making up a spreadsheet and was wondering if there is a formula or something that can understand if i write say the word Double it knows i mean the number 2, but it shows the word and not the number, however in addition i also need this to be able to work with totalling the column up so i would want Double to mean 2, Single to mean 1 etc. but they need to add up to a total using the sum formula.
