Vlookup cell link with other other sheet, how can i trace the cell linked from

excel 2010 , linked the 2 sheet with Vlookup, , looking for help if there is some solution,

sheet one is cost sheet, sheet 2 is one we are linking by Vlookup ,

if I click on sheet 2 cell row 16 is there any way that cell show where this cost was linked from sheet 1 cost

because on cost sheet we have more than thousands rows its takes long time to search for that model for that model , when we want to identify where this cost linked from, because my boss wants to see the more details

can some one please help this, how can we trace it faster , just clicking on that one cell , that can take us back on original sheet on that model cell.

hope mu question is not confusing, I have attached the file also.

I did looked at the trace Precedents, that's not what we are looking for,

    any help will be appreciated

you can use the match() to find the row of where that came from

    =MATCH(C16,cost!C:C,0)

Which formula did you try? What is the error ? Where did it occur? Be aware no crystal ball is provided at this forum or any other that I know of

Re: Vlookup cell link with other other sheet, how can i trace the cell linked from

    =ADDRESS(MATCH($C7,cost!$C$1:$C$30,0);;;"sheet1")

I tried this below formula , and attached file on column E7 had the same formula added, it does not do anything , when I click on sheet 2 cell C16 , it should take me on tab Cost cell B22 model 100A115, its not doing that . what I am doing wrong, can you please advise,

I tried the other formula also

=MATCH(C16,cost!C:C,0) this formula give me row # what row for example 6, 12, on cost tab that model, but still does not take me exactly on that cell.

    any help will be appreciated

Enter the following in Sheet2 E7:

Copy and paste down from E7 to E18. Result will show as $C$12, $C$16, etc.
