Excel 2010 Filter a value then displaying results

    Hi all,

    A little problem.

I have a sheet (Data) that has people in it. in Column P is a filter based on a Course type (code). The user need to type a course code in the P1 (named range "Tester").

This will tell our user that the course has been attended.

If the course has NOT been attended we need to filter out and copy those people on to another sheet (Results) but eliminate the duplicates (the names maybe duplicated). I have tried using the advanced filter but it didn't work. I have looked on the net/forums but cannot see something this specific.

    Can anyone help.

I have attached a copy of some test data.Lens_TestData.xlsx

Is automatically eliminating the duplicated names your main issue? A simple filter would identify who attended the course and Excel's "Remove Duplicates" function would eliminate the duplicates.

I tried using the remove duplicates but it permanently deletes them.

I need a way of just showing those not on the course without duplicates.

Why not copy the results to a separate location and then remove the duplicates?

I wrote a macro to begin with to copy the filtered results to the "Results" sheet then remove duplicated on column A.

This does not work. Those people that have done the course still show up in the results.

Can you upload a version with your macro and an example of incorrectly populated results?

I think you could work it using a Pivot Table with the Report Filters set to your requirements - Then just refresh the filters after the user has updated the table?
