    drop down linked to calendar

    Hello Everybody,

Greetings from UAE. I need your support.
I have created a drop-down list to select the according month.
Now I would like to link this drop-down cell to the calendar, e.g. when I select January, automatically 1.1.2015 should be displayed.

    Thank you already in advance.

    Hi nuju17, here's another idea.
I wasn't sure if you had the formula to workout what day starts the month so I supplied my idea for that as well.

If you right-click the heading (dropdown list) and select "Format Cells" you'll see the custom number format I used.

    Hope it helps.

Re: drop down linked to calendar

    Very glad to help Nuju17.
One other thing that I should have done but didn't think of was to select column A and Format Cells - Special as mmmm.
Looks better in the drop-down list.

Re: drop down linked to calendar

Calendar.jpgI tried to solve it by myself but I cannot figure it out - once again help please
I want to link the calendar to an overview now:
Table from 1 - 31 and always the calendar content should to be displayed in the first cell. Excel should find the first cell with content in spreadsheet 1 and put it in the cell 1 at spreadsheet 2 and than always the next until the month is over.

Re: drop down linked to calendar

I'm not exactly sure what you're asking Nuju17.
The attached file has a Sheet2 with a list of dates and events and I have the calendar looking up that table to find if there is an event for that day and if so print it in the cell.
I'm hoping that if this doesn't answer it might at least help in the right direction
2 problems though, I had to switch your "Name of session" and "Date" columns, and also the calendar will only ever show 1 event for a day.
If you have more than 1 event or session on the same day then this won't work. I'll do something different.
If it's only 1 event per day but you can't switch those columns then I'll make a helper column on your calendar to fix that.
