I have a list of dates that need to be merged and centered, but doing it by hand would be problematic and unsustainable. Is there an easy way I am missing? A macro perhaps? Thanks for you help.

I advice you NOT to work like that.
You want a sheet with merged cells.
You get in trouble with it sooner or later (and I expect in your case sooner).
So stick to the original format.
Notice my main language is not English.
