#value for an invalid data type....WHAT IS IT!?!?

I am getting in invalid date type error for the formula in cell D3 on the first sheet (Selector Sheet). I cannot see why this is.


Can someone have a look and please tell me what I cannot see...?

In D3: =INDEX('Case List'!$C$5:$C$579, MATCH('Selector Sheet'!$E$3, 'Case List'!$D$5:$D$579, 0))

You can't MATCH a range, it has to be an individual cell, change the E3:H3 to just E3 and it returns the value 4.
I haven't got time to check this further.
