Index Match Match returning latest value

    Hello all,

I am currently using the formula =IFERROR(INDEX('21 TWL'!$B$3:$Z$26,MATCH(K$2,'21 TWL'!$B$3:$B$26,0),MATCH($A7,'21 TWL'!$B$3:$Z$3,0)),) to return a percentage based off a line number and month.

The formula works in returning the first percentage for that month, but I would like it to return the latest one. For example, in my workbook you will see K2 is 90%, but I would like it to return the 100% which is located below it in the 21 TWL tab.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.Sample Workbook.xlsx

    Try this:

    Confirm with CTRL+SHIFT+ENTER

I'm not sure if this solves your problem entirely, since the example you gave doesn't seem to be accurate (K2 does not contain a % value, but K10 does, and that is where the attached formula has been entered).

    Hope this helps!

    mcmahobt,

Thank you for the quick response! Your equation works perfectly.

I was wondering what the "1" input in the first match does? I notice it's the only difference.

Another formula that you could use in K10 and copy to all rows without adjustment:

Re: Index Match Match returning latest value

It looks for the nearest value that is "less than" the matched value. A "0" looks for an exact value, while a "-1" returns the nearest greater than value.
