    Vlookup

I'm trying to use VLOOKUP to search a data set of US Counties to give me the total number of full-time employees for that specific county. The issue I'm having is there are multiple counties with the same name (see attached image) so I need to look at the State as well to insure I get the correct information...

    Ex:

The County of Adams Colorado has 1,676 full-time employees where as the County of Adams Mississippi has 535 full-time employees...

    Thanks for the help!

    Re: Vlookup

Here's a sample of the spreadsheet...

I need to look at the "Main" sheet Column D (Name) and compare it to the "County" sheet Column E (Government Name). The value I'm looking for is on "County" sheet Column G (FT Employees).

    Re: Vlookup

Try this in M2 of the Main Tab,

    =SUMIFS(County!G:G,County!$D:$D,$D2,County!$B:$B,$H2)

    Re: Vlookup

    BTW:
You might want to check your data for consistency. Ex: Mc Lean on the Main sheet vs McLean on the County sheet....same state.
