Finding if multiple bends then subtracting bend deductions.

Brain dead today, could use a little help. I have several cells that are "leg lengths" on sheet metal. If cells one and two are populated, there is one bend in the sheet metal part. If cells one, two and three are populated then there are two bends in the part, etc through multiple cells. I have another cell that is the "bend deduction" for the part. This amount is subtracted from the total sum of the "leg lengths", one time per bend. The problem I'm running in to is how to have my total part length show up no matter how many bends are in the part. If there is one bend, the first two cells would have the leg lengths while the remaining cells would have zero and I would subtract one bend deduction. Two bends in the part, the first 3 cells would have the leg lengths while the remaining cells had zero and on and on. I hope I am making sense, it's been a long week already. Thanks for any input, it is greatly appreciated.
