COUNTIF(?) For Multiple Arrays With Multiple Conditions

I was using this formula in OpenOffice (below) and it is not translating into Excel. I'm admittedly not great at excel and really reaaaallly appreciate any help anyone can provide so THANK YOU in advance!

Goal: Formula that will count amount of cells that contain a value (are not blank) in a row (let's say row 5), but only if the value of a corresponding cell in the same column but a different row (row 1) is an exact match for a certain text.

The formula I've been using is included in the example attached. It was pretty roundabout but the only solution I could find for OpenOffice. Now I have Excel and it's great but this formula does not translate and I can't make it work.

I also hope there is an easier solution but I will take any help whatsoever. Thank you again!
Formula I am using that does not work for excel: =SUMPRODUCT(B$3:FW$3="8-10+",NOT(ISBLANK(B10:FW10)))
*formula is exactly the one I am using, not an example replica

    In the example attached:

    A B C D E F G H
1 Small Large Medium Small Large Small Medium
    2
    3
    4
    5 2 16 8 19 7 12 22

And the desired result of the formula would be 2
Because there are 2 cells in row 5 that are not blank (contain values) when their corresponding column cells in row 1 areForum Example.xlsx Small
