    Conditional Formatting

    Hi,

I have set up a calendar in excel and put in conditional formatting to highlight cells that match a date in a table. However I require the cells to be highlighted in different colour depending on the letter next to the date. I want each letter to have its own colour but i also don't want to separate them into different tables.

    See attached file.

    Any help would be grateful.

    Thanks in advance.

    Re: Conditional Formatting

To do this without macros, you need a different conditional formatting rule for each color. See attached. I have done "A" for you, you can do the others. Formulas are the same, the only thing different is "A", "B", "C", etc., and the colors.

By the way, I think your calendar date formulas are much more complex than they need to be. See the second file for another way to do this.

    Re: Conditional Formatting

Thank you, exactly what I needed it to do.

I shall take a look at your alternative method of the date formulas, thanks for your feedback.
