Using Formula to Find Average in a Pivot Table

Hello all!

I am trying to use a formula to get the average of 'Rates' in the Pivot tab using the attached example. I don't want to have to manually do it as I have over 480,000 lines of data!!

Change the name of "Sum of Rate" to Rate "
Drag it into values
Select any number new column anjd right click
Slelect "Value field settings"
Select "Average"

What do you mean by 'select any new column and right click'? Do I need to add another column in my pivot?
