COUNTIFS function returning 0 when filtering between dates

What do these return?

=ISNUMBER(L3)
=ISNUMBER(L4)

And
=ISNUMBER(DATE!E1) - and filled down to end of data.


Maybe you could post a sample book?

Make sure there is just enough data to demonstrate your need. Include a BEFORE sheet and an AFTER sheet in the workbook if needed to show the process you're trying to complete or automate. Make sure your desired results are shown, mock them up manually if necessary.

Remember to desensitize the data.

Click on GO ADVANCED and use the paperclip icon to open the upload window.

Thanks for the help.

I have resolved it now. Stupid error on my part - I was entering the dates as 1/4/14 when it should have been 4/1/14 according to the correct format.
