I have a spreadsheet that was imported with a number column that I would like to change the number value to show negative. I have tried to change the column and the rows that are empty will format correctly if a number is entered but the existing numbers will not change. Is there a way to change the existing numbers to a negative format. There is no formula connected to the cells.
If the current numbers in A1:A50 are positive and you want to make them negative
place -1 in a blank cell in the sheet, let's say D5
Copy D5 (CNTRL C)
Select A1:A50 and Paste Special> click on "Multiply"> OK

substitute commas with semi-colons if your region settings requires
