    minim or maxim formula

    hello everybody.
    need some hlep

I need a min/max formula that will gather information from diferent sheets (same cell all the time) in one central sheet.

In the attached example, I need to know what is the min/max quantity collected by each team during the week. I do not need to know when the quantity was collected.

    can anybody help?

    Cell B2:
    Formula: copy to clipboard
    =MAX(Monday:Friday!B2)
    copy across and down.

    Re: minim or maxim formula

thanks TMS, almost there. I was trying to create a simple excel file, but I run directly into trouble. in my actual file, the sheets have diferent names, based on the different names of the departments (like Fab, Weld, Logistic, Quality). should I rename them in a sequence? I prefer not to...

    Re: minim or maxim formula

So long as you refer to the first and last worksheets, the formula will use the data as in the example. It's not important what they are called.

Note that if you add a worksheet before the first or after the last, it will be ignored.

It is good/normal practice, in my experience, to create blank "start" and "end" worksheets and refer to them in the formula. Then, any worksheets you insert between the start and end sheets are automatically included.
