    volleyball spreadsheet

    Volleyball Stats.xls

I am having some issues with a volleyball spreadsheet i created to track matches and the individual sets within each match. In tournaments they will play best 2 of 3 sets and on head to head action they will play best 3 of 5. So, I had to create a spreadsheet that would accomodate both.

I want to record hitting stats. I have four columns per set: Attempts, kills, errors and percentage.
    Set 1
    Att Kills Err PCT
    #DIV/0!

    In percentage i have =((C5-D5)/B5)

I have this four more times for the additional sets. Then for total i want to figure the average for all 5 of the sets. =AVERAGE(E5,I5,M5,Q5,U5)

If i only have 2 or 3 sets i can't get the total box to fill in? and if i have a blank document i only have #### in each cell. I would like to clean this up a little to make it look better any suggestions?

Use iferror to avoid the divide by 0 problem, ie =iferror((c5-d5)/B5,"")

The percentage formula could be fixed using:

    Replace all percentage calculations.

The Total could be fixed with
    Formula: copy to clipboard

This assumes you are using Excel 2003 or earlier. If you are using Excel 2007 or later, you could make the formulae simpler with IFERROR.

Edit: assumption based on the .xls file extension.

    Re: volleyball spreadsheet

That worked perfect for the percentage columns. Thank you!!!!!

I still have the ##### for the total column. Could i put the iferror in that formula somewhere? =AVERAGE(E5,I5,M5,Q5,U5)

I did try to do just one percentage column and it did go into the Total column. Thanks ragulduy
