Text and numbers in one cell to reference in another cell on a separate sheet

I have a single cell with a drop down list containing several Text/Number combinations on one work sheet. I need to have whichever Text/Number combination selected in that cell to appear in a separate cell on a separate work sheet. What formula would I use to accomplish this task?

In the cell you want the value to appear, type "=" and then click on the cell that you want to reference.

I wish it were that easy. Here are some screen shots of my problem, in the drop down list on sheet1 under "metal grade" there is a text/number selected as B5, whenever a different combination is selected in that sheet I need it to appear in a separate cell on sheet2, on the right side of cell containing the words "metal grade" currently only showing #value

What formula do you currently have in the Metal Grade cell (R1:S3) that is causing it to show #value?
It's hard to tell anything from screen shots, but a simple reference should work. Because you are using merged cells, the reference should be to the top left of the merged cells (i.e. ='MASTER MELT LOG'!S9)
