Formula stopped working

Greetings,

I opened up an older spreadsheet today and saw this formula:

=SUM(IF(ISNUMBER(FIND("pow",B3:V25)),--LEFT(B3:V25,FIND(" ",B3:V25))))

however, if i change it AT ALL (change end to aim or change the range) then the formula completely stops working and just returns 0. If i take out the range and just use B3 it works fine (returning 105), but once i put the :V25 back in it stops working.

I've tried on both excel 2013 and 2010.

I wasn't hitting ctrl-shift-enter causing the formula not to work.
