Reference a selected value from a drop-down list

    My function is:

    =IF(A2="","",IF(INDEX('JOBNAME Time Cards'!K:K,(ROWS($1:1)-1)*7+1)="No TV","","X"))

The idea is basically, if on another page at specific cells there is a value of 'No TV', there will be an empty cell - otherwise there will be an X.

In the past this has worked fine, but now that I've changed the way the 'No TV' cell works to be a dropdown of options, it no longer works. Even though 'No TV' is selected from the dropdown, the value is still X.

Can you attach a file? Is there an extra space in the cell used to create the data validation? (Assuming it's data validation).

    AutoTimeCardTracking test.xlsx

The line in question is F2 on the 'Reference' Sheet. I'm in the middle of building something, but got stuck on this.

It -might- have something to do with the fact that I built the references in validation, rather than referencing a group of cells.

Not exactly sure what you are trying to do here, I can find no DV on Time Card sheet? perhaps a few sample answers would help?
    1. Use code tags for VBA.
Your Code
(or use the # button)
    2. If your question is resolved, mark it SOLVED using the thread tools

Tech figured it out, thank you Tech! I guess I just didn't realize that I had moved a box. Derp - that's silly of me.

FDibbins - the ultimate goal is for Reference to read from Job Time Cards - at which point I'll create a macro with an upload button to upload to JobName Tracking.

Anyway, thanks. I'll marked as solve.
