How to use conditional formatting formula to add border when condition met

I have a large table and would like a border to divide rows of the table where values in certain columns change. I'm not sure if I should use IF or AND or something else... I'm at a loss.
I'm attaching a pared down version of the table. The columns in question are D, I, and J. Proceeding downward in any of these rows, every time the value changes I need a border as a divider.

Thank you very much ahead of time if anyone has a chance to look at this.Divide rows.xlsx

Re: How to use conditional formatting formula to add border when condition met

Just in case anyone is interested I found a way to divide the different values in a single row with a border using the conditional formatting =D2<>D3. However, as far as I can tell it is not possible to apply this rule to the entire table based on the values in selected columns. So I have to apply the conditional formatting rule to each column in question separately, and then take another step to apply that divider to the rest of the table. It is an awkward and inefficient solution, but it's the best I've got at the moment.

Your formula is correct i.e. =D2<>D3. To apply this to col. D,I and J follow these steps......

First select J2:J33, hold down the Ctrl key and select I2:I33 and while still holding the Ctrl key finally select D2:D33 and then make a New Rule for conditional formatting and set the format as per your choice.
Is this what you are trying to achieve?
See the attached sheet for more details.

In part. The dividers are in the correct spots and it's good to know I can apply the rules all at once. But I'd like to see the dividers extend along the length of the whole table row at each location. That is, to divide the entire table at each spot one of the changes takes place.
