Count cells within a specific date range that contain a specific word

I have a spreadsheet which I have attached. The "Dashboard" sheet contains a breakdown of failures, month to month. I have created the formula in E2 that will count all the cells in "Failures" column D, that contain a date that is within a specific range. In this case the range is 7/1/2013 to 7/31/2013. Now what I am trying to do is count how many within that range contain certain failure modes which are listed in Column D of "Dashboard"

In cell E3 of "Dashboard" I need a formula that will count the number of times that "NFF" appears in column K of "Failures" within the date range of 7/1/2013 to 7/31/2013.


Any help would be great.
