Question HELP, formula for selecting multiple active x check boxes

Actually I think I only need this. When I check a check box it is linked to I6 which turns to true and conditionally formatted to RED. I want that active x check box to also change L2 to red. I know this is very simple but I'm just plain dumb. I also do not want to see the TRUE/FALSE because I need to have text in the L2 box.

    Thanks in advance

    Hi joe318e,

    Try:
    a. Set the CONDITIONAL FORMATTING formula in L2 to turn RED when I6 is 'True'.
    b. You won't see the True/False because there is no value in L2 yet.

NOTE: To hide the contents of a cell from view use custom formatting of 3 semi-colons (;; (no parentheses).

I just set the linked cell from the active x checkbox to L2 and set the conditional format for L2 to fill red if TRUE. The cell turns red and TRUE is displayed. All of the text that I had in the box is now gone.

    Hi,

See the attached sample workbook that uses the conditions from your original post. There are two Checkboxes, one is an Active X checkbox (in the cell locations you mentioned). The other is a Forms CheckBox. The mechanics of both is the same for what you want to do.

The CONDITIONAL FORMATTING FORMULA in L2 should be:

A cell can have a value entered manually or a value created by formula BUT NOT BOTH. A cell can also have CONDITIONAL FORMATTING.

You, my friend, are a genius. I guess that I was over thinking it too much. Have been working for hours on this simple formula...Much to learn.

Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!
