First of all i want to say thank you for a great forum like this. Hopefully some one can help me.
Ms Office 2010 (at work) :
I want to add formulas in excel to be permanent. No one can edit or delete the formula but you can edit/delete the text/numbers inside the field.
Just no one can touch the formula behind it.. is something like this possible?

Hi, and welcome to the forum.
A cell can be either locked and protected or not. You seen to be saying that in a single cell you have a formula which includes some variable text and numbers. Whilst you can't protect a cell and also have it editable, what you can do is have the variable text and numbers in other cells which are not locked, and have the formula in a locked cell refer to these variable cells.

Not a hyperlink, just a direct reference (link) to the other workbook/sheet/cell in the formula. If you need more detailed advice please upload the workbooks in question and explain what you want linked to where.
welcome to the forum, JusticeA. 1. select the entire worksheet first by pressing CTRL + A or click on the box on the left of Column A & on top on row 1. press CTRL + 1 to go to Format Cells. go to the tab Protection. Uncheck the "Locked". press OK.*
2. now select only those you want to lock (i.e. those with formulas). again, CTRL + 1 & go to the tab "Protection". Check back Locked.*
3. Now, right-click the Sheet & Protect Sheet. only those you did in Step 2 will be locked. If you need to, put in a password

Too bad that you cant just lock the formula but edit the numbers inside the cell..
