Check [This Cell] Against [That List] And Display [Corresponding Adjacent Value]

    Hello everyone.

I have no idea what to call this, but I needed it, and I managed to create it. I'm posting it here for everyone's benefit.

    Summary:
I have a master list of items.
Each item has a corresponding min and max value.
In another sheet in the same document I have a list of locations that all have some of the items from my master list.

The objective was to look at the list of locations and check to see if the location has an item from the master items list. If it does, I display the min and max values in their own cells.

2 Examples attached, using one sheet only.
#2 Check This Cell Against That List And Display Corresponding Adjacent Value -2.xlsm - Hourly Rates.
#3 Check This Cell Against That List And Display Corresponding Adjacent Value -3.xlsm -Parts List, most recent version.

Sounds as though you're talking about VLOOKUP?

I've never used that feature. Is the formula in my sheets less effective? If there is room to improve, I will.

    I would use, in G2:
    Formula: copy to clipboard
Please Login or Register to view this content.
and drag across to H2 and then down.

    See the updated example.

Is the formula in my sheets less effective?
I would think so. Seems a bit of a round the houses route to do what a built-in function can do for you.
