Help reqired for preparing report from excel dump

    Hi Team

I need help to prepare report from excel dump.

I get a daily dump in excel and i need to prepare a report out of that dump.

So far i have been doing it manually and I am looking forward to automate the same with the help of functions in Excel.

Request all in the group to extend help to me as I am new to excel

I have attached the sample dump and the sample report

    The rule for the reporting:
    1. filter the column c (Assigned / Created) and include only "created".
    2. take the incident number from the column E (Incident ID).
    3. the reporting of the incidents is done based on the column H (Current Priority).
    4. the current status of the ticket is taken from the column I (Current Status).
    5. the count is based oon the number of tickets on that type.

    Thanks in advance.

    Regards
    Pitanshu Priy

    Hi
I would suggest you look at Pivot Tables. See sample attached based on your data.
    Hope this helps.
    Good luck.

    Hi Tony

    Sorry , m back again.

The Report is running fine with the pivot.

I need your help in one of the short coming in the report.

The day there is no P1 or P2 or P3 or P4 created, then the pivot table is distorted( no entry)

Can you please help me so that the report shows a 0 count of the ticket for P1 or P2 or P3 or P4.

    Regards

Re: Help reqired for preparing report from excel dump

    Hi
By default if there are no entries for any of the Priorities then the figure will be zero. If you want to actually shown an entry for zero against any of the priorities then you must enter a dummy line in the raw data for each one you want to show a zero for.
    Hope this helps.
