Cell writable, given value of another cell

Hi,

Is it possible to make cell A1 writable if cell A2 has a higher value than 1 000. And locked for writing for given values below 1 000.

Do it with custom validation on cell A1, A2>1000

Sorry, but I don't know how to do it. Where do I start?

Data --> Validation --> custom, put the formula =A2>1000 in the custom box. Do some reading on the help for validation, this will open up things like this to you.
