    Conditional Formatting with Multiple Criteria

    I have a spreadsheet where I am trying to do conditional formatting based upon more than 1 criteria. I have tried several formulas, but am having no luck. There will be several separate conditional formatting statements and I'm aware of the hierarchy for processing. I'm trying to format cells between certain dates formatted in my "timeline cells" which contain monthly dates. 1 color for Type "Maintenance" and another for Type "Enhancement." The other criteria is only wanting to format the cells that fall between a "Start" date and a "Finish" date. I have all dates using the same format but each in it's own column. I'd attach a sample but I'm new here and not quite sure how.

    Select F3, Conditional Formatting, by Formula:

    • Rule 1 =AND($B3="Enhancement",XES$2>=$C3,XES$2<=$D3)
    • Choose a color
    • Rule 2 =AND($B3="Maintance",XES$2>=$C3,XES$2<=$D3)
    • Choose a different color
    • Use Format Painter and copy to every other cell
