Countif not working

I'm trying to do a Countif on two data sets, both columns being numeric values, =COUNTIF($B$2:$B$1050,A2) and the results are all coming up as 0. I have done a =ISNUMBER check and they are all true for both columns, but my LEN count is showing that all cells (in both columns) contain 5 characters. This number should vary from 3 to 5 characters.
I have copied and pasted values into a new sheet, formatted, tried pasting special and formatting to general to see if there were any issues but I can't find anything.

Not sure if there is a formatting issue that I'm not picking up on or what the issue could be..

It seems to be working now on the sample - after I retyped some of the data..perhaps I'm having a majorly blonde moment but I can't go through and retype all data (5000+ cells worth) - where am I going wrong with formatting?..
