    Vlookup Formula Error,#N/A, Please Help!!!

    Good Morning To All

I have a problem which considering I am fairly sharp and advanced with Excel, now using version 2013 one of the continuous problems I have always had for some strange reason is how to fix formula errors which is very frustrating for me. The most common one always seems to be the above titled formula error, #N/A which always say that A Value is not available to the Formula or Function?

I try everything to fix this formula error inclusive of clearing all cell formatting using Control Shift ~ and I just can never fathom out how to clear error and in most circumstances if I use the IF & 'IFError Function' where you can just put a "" Null String for the value of false then usually that will be fine for me but there are certain times like now when I am using the Vlookup function to lookup a table of data and to Populate all the relevant cells for me with the results of the lookup table and I require all the relevant cells to be populated with the data but like now it just continually keeps coming up with the above formula error which is driving me absolutely barmy with not being able to fix this error.

I am happy to attach a copy of one of the files that I am currently working on if need be if someone can kindly help me please or alternatively could someone kindly just let me know how you clear this above formula error but as previously stated I know how to use the IF & IFError function and normally that would be fine for me to use but on the files I am currently working on I do require the cells to be populated from the lookup table from within my Vlookup so need to know how to fix these frustrating above formula errors as previously stated.

I hope someone can kindly help me!

    Thanks

    Mickey

Look for extra spaces in your data that might be throwing the VLOOKUP off!

Re: Vlookup Formula Error,#N/A, Please Help!!!

    Dear All

I Have tried fixing the above continuous formula error that I require the vlookup to populate all cells from the raw data look up table in cells 'J1 - L17' with the kind help earlier this morning from Ace XL whom advised me to look for any extra spaces in my raw data or in anywhere within the cells that I need populated from the lookup table from the above cells and I used the 'Trim Function' on the look up table and also within the cells that I need populated but unfortunately it is still frustratingly showing up the same #N/A formula error despite my above efforts. I have now attached a copy of the workbok/sheet that I am working on so hopefully someone can kindly take the time to have a look at it and point out to me where I am going wrong please.

Very much appreciate anybody's help with this issue.

I look forward to hearing from anyone.

    Thanks

    Mickey

The lookup values are in column K, not J. You need to amend the array.

    Hi Mickey,

You want the following VLOOKUP in column D:

Please Login or Register to view this content.
Column E Needs INDEX and MATCH as your data is to the left of your lookup value (or you can re-arrange the table, but no need)

Please Login or Register to view this content.
None of these are array formulas, just click and drag. Thanks
