    Calculating rebate

    Good day friends.

Please I have a file for calculating customers' rebate as follows:

    <=500 No rebate
    501-1000 4%
    1001-1500 4.5%
    1501-2000 5%
    2001-2500 5.5%
    2501-3000 6%
    3001-3500 6.5%
    3501-4000 7%
    4001-4500 7.5%
    4501-5000 8%
    5001-5500 8.5%
    5501-6000 9%
    6001-6500 9.5%
    6501-7000 10%.
My challenge here is that I tried using IF function and the system is saying this is too long for nested formular. What formular can I use to incorporate all the conditions? Thank you.

    Hi st_judeu,

You need to look at the VLookup function using TRUE as the last argument. See some examples at:

    Re: Calculating rebate

Change your table layout to contain only the minimum values, then, as Marvin suggested, use vlookup()...

    A
    B
    C
    1
    0
    0
    1100
    2
    501
    4%
    0.045
    3
    1001
    4.50%
    4
    1501
    5%
    5
    2001
    5.50%
    6
    2501
    6%
    7
    3001
    6.50%
    8
    3501
    7%
    9
    4001
    7.50%
    10
    4501
    8%
    11
    5001
    8.50%
    12
    5501
    9%
    13
    6001
    9.50%
    14
    6501
    10%

    C2=VLOOKUP(C1,$A$1:$B$14,2,1)

    Re: Calculating rebate

Unless it's a progessive rate - ie they only get 10% on the amount over 6500. you then need to use a sumproduct with arrays for the minimum values and the differential rates.
