    E.G. 48 UNITS x $36.00

Hello everyone. In cell K 22, I'm trying to get the summation from multiplying:

    A22 48 UNITS by E22 $36.00

    In cell K22, I tried:

=sumA22*E22, but I can't get the value. I know it's because I have UNITS after 48. How do I remedy this?

    Thank you for your help.

Remove UNITS from A22 and enter =A22*E22
Entia non sunt multiplicanda sine necessitate

Instead of typing UNITS into your cells, create a custom format using this: 0 "UNITS". If you do this, you only need to type the number into A22, and then it will work as a number.

You could try something like this =--LEFT(A2,2)*B2
