Excel Hyperlink files named with #

So I have a couple of hyperlinks that I'm trying to make, but these files have been named with a # sign in them. After a while of trial and error, I realized that they are whats keeping excel from correctly opening them. Shows the error of "Cannot open specified file", I'm guessing its because excel thinks its referencing to a sheet name. Does anyone know if there is a way to make excel open that hyperlink properly?( without changing the names of the original files)

    Thank you very much!

    Welcome to the forum.

Off the top of my head, I'd suggest using the CHAR number for # (35) rather than # in the link - perhaps you can try this?

    Hope this helps.
    Brendan.

That's unfortunate. I've had a brief look on the internet, and could find no hits that referred to having a "#" as part of a hyperlink. Hopefully, somebody else on the forum will help you resolve this.

That's why I've come to the forums! Any halp from anyone is greatly appreciated. Hopefully I wont have to go back and rename those 9200 files...... Although I'm sure a VBA script will do the trick?
