    Multi conditional search

    Hi team,

    Please check the attached.

Sheet 1 has the user to select the option from the data base for style, size, code, bottom and top.
Sheet 2 has the data base of price list with combinations of user requirement.

    What i need is
1.As the user select the combination from the dropdown list the price needs to be listed.
2.The user need not to enter all the search requirement from the drop down list even if a blank is selected then with the minimum input data all possible price data needs to be displayed.

    example

If the user selects as shown below the price needs to shown as 500

style size code bottom top price
women medium 2 white yellow 500

If the user select only women+small+1+white+(no option selected) = all possible then price data needs to listed .If there is no data available then a message promt can shown as no data.

    Thanks in advance

    Sany

    Re: Multi conditional search

if you take your Sheet2 and you apply a FILTER (from Data menu), you'll be able to easily do this manually.
It's the simplest way of doing.
I know it can be done with a macro that will assign the data validation values dynamically But it uses a macro.

    Re: Multi conditional search

One way to do this is by using Advanced Data Filter with a macro. For detail find the attached sheet to see if this works as per your requirement.

    Re: Multi conditional search

You can do it by recording a macro while using advance data filter and then assign that macro to a button or shape to reuse the advance data filter for the changed search criteria.

    Re: Multi conditional search

Hi, please take a look at the attached workbook.
It contains a macro in the Sheet1 section and it will create the drop down data validation itself based on your table of data.

It comes from MickG an Excel expert here at the forum. It works very well and it is quite flexible. Thanks to MickG.

In some way, it gives you a price selection for the given choices an operator makes.
    Hope it will help you.
    Regards
