Line charts to show position between two set points

I am working with measurement data and would like to create a simple line chart to show the position of a measured dimension between the upper and lower allowable dimension. I would like it to be a spark line in a cell but i dont see how that can happen.

here is an example of what i would look for (excuse the drawing with text)

the vertical line on the left would be the lower limit and the vertical line on the right would be the upper limit. the line in the middle would be the measured point.

line chart or scatter chart?

If this were a scatter chart, it would be relatively easy to do something like this using the horizontal error bars.

It is hard to give specific advice with such a general question. Are your data suited to a scatter plot or can they made to be suited to a scatter plot? Specifically, are the x data numeric or categoric? http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/ex...478.aspx?CTT=1
