Question One of the values on pivot table not calculating properly

    Hi,

This pivot table is used to track referrals for an employment service, and needs to show monthly totals of referrals, enrolments, cancellations and placements.

I have the referral date as one of the row lables, but it seems that each of the others now only reflectes back to that date rather than the date entered in that value

    EG:

5 clients referred in September, One was placed in October, 2 in December and 1 in Jan but the totals for placed are all showing in September rather than the month the clinet was placed.

Any ideas on how to fix this?

What field are you filtering the pivot table on? Also, are referral dates and placement dates separate fields?

    Hi,

The spreadsheet that feeds the table has seperate columns for cancellation, referral, enrolment and placement, with the date of each action entered in these.

The Pivot table is set out as follows:
    Row Lables (in order)
    Service (there are 2 types)
    Region (there are 6 types)
    Assigned to (ther Consultant's names)
    Referral date

I have attached a snapshot of the tablePivot table.jpg

Because you have Referral Date as a Row Label .. it will group by that and count if the other dates are filled in (I'm sure you already knew that .. just thinking out loud hehe).

I am trying to wrap my head around a way to get the other dates to appear in the different months without exploding the size of the pivot table.

Where is your data coming from? Is it in the spreadsheet? a link to an external database? You may have to look at how the data is coming to you.

Not sure I am being much help here. I have had to reformat data before to get it to present the way I needed.

The data is coming form a spreadsheet in the same workbook

I have attached a small (edited for privacy reasons) version for you to see spreadsheet.jpg

I tried removing the referral date and just having it as a value but could not get it to seperate like it does now.
