Need help deciphering this chart/timeline

the way this thing was designed was to only roll for 5 months I believe. How can I get it to roll for the period covering all the time between my start date and end date?

For example: My start date is 12/17/07 and the end date is some time in 12/31/08.

Change the maximum value of a scroll bar (you could also think of changing "per page" property in this format).
So: just Right Click on scroll bar, format the formant ;-) and change the max value property.

That took care of ONE of my major problems, now it seems I have a new one. When I copy the data from another sheet into this timeline sheet, it doesn't populate the actual timeline anymore. It seems that it needs an actual formula in the start date and end date columns? How do I get around this and why would it have been set up that way? (just so I can learn a little about the thought process).

It might be important to know this. My data set takes up more rows than what is/are available currently. So I expanded the table down a bunch to allow for more space for me to copy the new data set in.

OK, I decided to try entering the data one row at a time instead of just copying all of my data in. Seemed to work that way. I'm still not sure why I couldn't just copy/paste each column in. Without knowing whether this was truly "SOLVED" or not, I will update this thread as "SOLVED" since I've achieved a result that I'm happy with.

Two comments:

As for copying - I tried to obtain the same problem, and I only succedded, when the dataes to be copied were not actual excel dates, but text strings, which looked like a dates.
Probably the easiest way to make sure if the cell which looks like a date, contains excel.date or excel.string is to change it's formatting (Ctrl + 1) to General.
If it shows after that a number like 41670 - is a real date.
If in General format it still loks like a date - it is text string

More milestones - I have not checked the workbook in detail, but it seems to have potential for it.
The "engine" for the graph is in the second sheet and in named ranges (Ctrl+F3) - some of them pretty basic, but note one called GridCalc, which is really the key for displaing the task bars.

Hope this explains a bit and will make easier using this (in my opinion nice and well designed) workbook.
