Why do blank columns with no information sometimes appear when I prepare pivot tables? Excel Version 2010. I hide the columns, but many times they re-appear on screen or print-outs. Very annoying. Thanks!

well without seeing the data a couple of guesses would be
1) your data set in the pivot table extends past the actual data set
2) there are actual blanks in the data set
you can set up the actual data set to be dynamic and then choose that named range so the pivot table only picks the actual data set.....that won't fix the actual blanks inside the data set....
