you need to use an xy-scatter series rather than line.
the line chart series will be centered over the column cluster.
with the xy-scatter you can define the x position
am.. ok. how do you define XY scatter data points position? in my case, when I did this, the data points moved:

post example file. I can not tell what you did from a picture.
Also explain where the markers should be positioned
Hi.
The file is located here:

What I want:
for each procut there are 6 data criteria.
I want, that Criteria1 and Criteria 2 would be displayed as Bar.
Then:
Criteria 1A and Criteria 1B would be displayed as data points, and would be positioned above Criteria 1 bar.
Criteria 2A and Criteria 2B would be displayed as data points, and would be positioned above Criteria 2 bar.
Same for each of the products.
At the moment, Criteria 1A, 1B 2A and 2B are displayed as data points of the line chart.

So convert those lines to xy-scatter and then change X values range from using column A labels to defined x values.
Please use forum attachment feature instead of 3rd party sites.
oh, ok.
somehow I missed the attachment function!
anyhow - many thanks for the the support.
As I understand, the 0.85/1.15 is just the location on X axis.
in this case, if I add anything else (another criteria etc,) I just need to adjust the X axis position.?
correct. you will need to alter x values if number of columns changes
Alternatively you could change your data layout. use lines instead of xy-scatter.
you will need to set column overlap to 100 and gap to zero.
now the line markers are centrally positioned over each column
I see. well, as i see now, imho scatter chart and "finetune" is a bit easier!less tables to be done.
