Excel 2007 Column Chart - change individual column colour

Hi all -

I am sure this has been asked a thousand times - but I can't find an answer.

I have plotted a column chart with data for this year and forecast data for November and December. All I want, is to be able to change the colour of the columns for November and December, or make them lighter, or hash them, or whatever - anything to differentiate them from the ACTUAL data.

Can this be done?

yes.

click the series, which will select all columns. Then click individual column and apply formatting.

Or you would add extra series with data points for only the required columns and format each series as required. Set the Overlap to 100%

Andy - thanks for the quick reply. I feel slightly embarrassed. Can't believe I overlooked such a simple solution. I hang my head in shame.
