    Question Grouping data into Dates

    Hi,

I have large amount of data in which one of the fields contains date and time for the entries being processed. When generating the pivot table for the same, I want the entries for the certain day to be listed under one date. However, I see all the entries for the dates displayed separately as the time field makes each entry unique. How can make this happen. I am using Microsoft Office 2007 SP2 on my computer running Windows 7 Ultimate Service Pack 1 (64-bit).

    With regards,

    Mullah Raheil.

Maybe add a column in your data table with the 'weekday' formula using the date? This will give you day of the week for each date & you can filter by this in the pivot table. Is that what you were looking to do?

The Group dialog should allow for grouping by day

Thanks Jay for the suggestion. I am currently using this (something similar) as a workaround for now. But given the fact that work has increased manifold, I need to delegate the work to other people, and all I can see is astonishment, and confusion eventhough I have explained umpteen number times to them how it is done.

Andy, I tried that, didn't help. I was able to do it earlier, but how, it is still a mystery.
