    Pivot table and filtering keywords

    Hi all,

I am new to using excel and I have come into a small problem.

I have a lot of data and I want to be able to have the filtered data be copied into a separate worksheet

    Example
Case subject line read Battlefield is crashing

I want to search using the keyword "crash" grab all the data within the pivot table and copy it over.

    Can that be done?

I have tried slicers but it doesn't work.

Re: Pivot table and filtering keywords

    Hi,

Use the AutoFilter, available on the Data tab on the ribbon.

    1. Highlight your header cells (top row)
    2. Click on "Filter"
    3. Click on the arrow above the "Subject" column, and select "Text Filters" --> "Contains"
    4. Type "crash" (without quotation marks) and click OK
    5. Copy the filtered data and paste it to a new sheet

    Hope this helps

Re: Pivot table and filtering keywords

    Hi,

    Thank you for the reply.

I am sorry I wasn't very clear. I have done a Pivot table that can hold from 3,000 to 20,000 cases.

I have about 50 keywords and it is very time consuming to do each keyword from the filtering with "Contains".

I was looking for a way to be able to set up each keyword like "crash" like the above example and to be able to pull each filtered data into a separate worksheet automatically.

Can this be done at all just VBA or any other way to do this.

Cheers and thanks again for the feedback.

Re: Pivot table and filtering keywords

This can definitely be done in VBA, but for me to create a template for you, can you please upload a sample of your workbook so that I can get a feel for how your data is layed out, and hence how to proceed with writing the code?

    Thanks
